Emu's (Basil, Syble, Scar & Curly)

These birds are found wild in Australia. They were brought to New Zealand to farm them for their meat, pelts & oil.
The female, (the one that sounds like a bongo drum) lays 20 to 30 eggs in June, July, the male sits on them for three months.
At this point the female has nothing more to do with her off spring.
The male is very protective and can become quite dangerous with his responsibility.
